The LEGI Block Cutter
The LEGI Block Cutter is simple to use and provides the user with a fast and effective way to cut blocks. Training in the use and maintenance of this device typically takes less than 15 minutes.
More About the LEGI Block Cutter
The LEGI Block Cutter quickly produces straight or angle cuts on compressed soil blocks produced by the various compressed soil block machines. It will even cut blocks when the rock content in the soil is high. Cement stabilized soil blocks and fly ash stabilized earth blocks may have to be cut with a carbide tipped power saw after the cement sets up in a day or two. Soil-only compressed blocks can be cut using the LEGI Block Cutter at the time of manufacture, months, or years after the initial time of production.
The LEGI Block Cutter is sold to customers in one assembly. It measures less than 30 inches by 24 inches and it weighs less than 60 pounds. The assembly can be easily carried and placed by 1 or 2 persons at the construction site. It has a steel reinforced handle assembly, a steel floating base assembly to hold the block during cutting, and a steel cutting assembly made up of a bottom steel cutting edge and top steel cutting edge. The block is placed between the two cutting edges at the angle desired and then the handle is depressed causing the two cutting edges to cut the block. The whole cutting operation for a block can take place in less than 10 seconds.
The LEGI Block Press Machine
The LEGI Block Press Machine is used to test various soils over the same pressures and moisture ranges used by all the LEGI Series of compressed earth block machines.
This compact, block press operates over a pressure range of 1,000 to 6,000 pounds per square inch and produces a 1 inch by 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches earth block that is exactly 1/4 inch scale to the standard sized block of 14″ x 10″ x 3.5″. The press is designed to help the end user determine if the soil that has been selected as the source material, has sufficient properties that will guarantee that the blocks produced by the large machines are of an acceptable quality.

The testing equipment can fit into the high density foam of the case for total subjection and protection against impact, vibration or shock.
This case is NATO codified and tested to MIL C-4150J (Military Standard), IP-67 (Ingress Protection) and ATA (Air Transportation Association).
